The 2025–2026 id.DRIVE studies reached the 10,000-patient recruitment milestone, bringing total enrolment over 40,000 participants since 2021.

The id.DRIVE partnership is pleased to announce that recruitment for the 2025–2026 epidemiological year already reached over 10,000 patients—hitting our total target for the season 2025-2026

As of 26 June 2026, 11,545 SARI patients had already been recruited across 13 sites in five countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and United Kingdom) exceeding the total recruitment target of 10,762 SARI patients set for August 2026. In particular, December 2025 hit a new monthly-record by recruiting over 2,000 SARI participants in a month during the respiratory viruses circulation peak in Europe. This achievement reflects the improvements implemented in the 2025-2026 season, the id.DRIVE sites network expansion, and a synchronised recruitment start in September 2025.

Overall, id.DRIVE has enrolled 40,000 SARI patients since September 2021. This is a remarkable milestone that underscores the strength of our collaboration and the commitment of our partners, study contributors, and participants. Through their coordinated efforts, the id.DRIVE partnership continues to generate robust real-world evidence on severe acute respiratory infections, respiratory virus surveillance and vaccine effectiveness.

This achievement reflects not just a number, but the team’s collective effort across all participating sites working to advance infectious disease and vaccine research and improve patient care. We thank all patients, investigators, research teams, and partners for their essential contribution to the success of the 2025–2026 season.
