We are pleased to announce that Prof. Philippe Beutels joined the Independent Scientific Committee of id.DRIVE. Prof. Beutels brings expertise on infectious diseases health economic and vaccination. This broadens our expertise into new interdisciplinary fields that are highly relevant to the id.DRIVE consortium.
Philippe is Professor of Health Economics at University of Antwerp. He is the founder and director of the Centre for Health Economics Research & Modelling Infectious Diseases (CHERMID), and founder and co-director of the Interuniversity Simulation Models for Infectious Diseases (SIMID) consortium. He has been a frequent advisor for the WHO and a member of pivotal WHO committees, such as the Immunization and Vaccines related Implementation Research Advisory Committee (IVIR-AC). His main research interests are health economic evaluation, modeling of infectious diseases, economics of infectious disease prevention, and criteria for health care prioritization.
He joins and exceptional team of experts on the id.DRIVE’s ISC, composed by: Dr. Gabrielle Breugelmans, Prof. Liz Miller, Prof. Harish Nair, Prof. Peter Smith and Assoc. Prof. Sheena Sullivan.
